POEM STARTER
Inspired by Jewelie Rain
Write a poem that transitions through two or more of the seven stages of grief: denial, bargaining, anger, depression, loss of self, reflection, and acceptance.
Miss You, Can’t Have You
Bitter, black, poured hot
Seething, molten lava, never roiling.
Cold in minutes, discarded desired then left, stained,
spoiling.
Acclimated taste, years of sugar coating
Morning then into the evening always sharing,
delighting.
Comforted, warmed, outside and in.
Desiring
Uniquely yours, uniquely mine
Remembering, a Silent caring.
Ubiquitous, now boring
Jitters, blank staring
Luke warm, stale
Can’t not,
desired when without
Becoming Unavailing
Always too much
Now too little
Cold black bitter
Watered down, broken
Healing.
