WRITING OBSTACLE

An alien and a human discuss the concept of love.

Think about what love might mean to another species, and how they would discuss it or think about it differently from humans.

What if they're happy?

"Well, what's love like on your planet?" The girl tilted her head at the tall creature sitting before her.

"It's what they tell us. My female guardian fell in love with my male guardian when they told her to." the creature looked down,

"Who?"

"Hm?" they looked up

"Who told her?"

"The three."

"So what is love on your planet?" the girl questioned her supernatural lover again,

"I don't know. Love on our planet doesn't exist. They say it does, but no one truly loves. They just follow the rules."

"What rules? "

"You ask a lot of questions. "

"I want a lot of answers."

The creature sighed, "the ruled are widely excepted throughout the land. No one tells you, but they're implied. The last one to break those rules, we never heard from them again."

"What if they're happy?"

Silence. The supernatural creature had never thought of that.

"In my opinion," the girl spoke, "if you love someone, then let them be. If it ruins the society, maybe you should change the way you run things. Because, no one can call it love if it's forced. It not fair or right."

"... Yeah" the creature was a loss for words, they had never heard their love have so much to say. Nevertheless, the girl pecked them on the cheek and stood up.

"See you tomorrow, dearest."

The creature smiled, "See you tomorrow."
