WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a monologue from the perspective of a pilot who disappeared in the Bermuda Triangle for two years.
Staying Lost
I used to be the best pilot the academy had ever seen—aced every exam, broke every record. No pun intended, but I passed with flying colors. I surprised everyone, earned their respect the only way I knew how—by giving them no other choice.
One of the youngest to graduate—and a woman, no less. In a field that never made it easy for people like me. The world doesn’t take kindly to a woman who refuses to play small.
But now? I’m stranded. Lost in the Bermuda Triangle, where the missing stay missing. No way out, no rescue in sight. Maybe I belong here. Maybe this is karma for the way I climbed to the top—using people, stepping over anyone who stood in my way.
No sympathy. No mercy. Win at all costs.
That had been my motto for the last four years. And now? It’s left me with nothing. Maybe, by some miracle, I’ll be found one day.
But honestly? I think I deserve to stay lost.
