A Drop of Serendipity
It was one of the worst winter days in the cold, chillness of January, the first day of the semester after our Christmas break had ended. On our first day back, there was a new student who had transferred to my school, she was a girl, and really pretty at that. Her hair was such a beautiful, bright blonde and her eyes a glorious, gleaming green, she was in my first class of the day and she sat next to me, I didn't talk as I was really shy and my anxiety kicked in, but I wanted her to notice me and talk to her. I went on with the rest of the day going through my other classes and getting adjusted to the new semester, but the girl couldn't escape my mind, it was like infatuation, so I knew I had to do something. As the day ended, the last bell had rang and the rain was as heavy as it was in the morning, pouring down terribly hard, almost like hail, but not exactly either. Once we were dismissed, all of us students were met with a downpour of rain, the moment you stepped in the rain it was if you've gotten out of the ocean water. Before I exited the school, I saw the same new girl from the beginning of the day, sad of the hard pouring rain. I wanted to offer her my umbrella, and for her not to get soaked. I've realized I had to stop letting fear and shyness control me, so I walked up to her and greeted myself to her. She recognized me due to the fact that she sat next to me, but she had also told me she was interested in getting to know me, so we started a conversation and talked for a while, however, it was getting to the point where it was almost time for me to head home. She mentioned that she was only a few minute walking distance away from the school, once she mentioned I asked her if she wanted to share my umbrella, so I could walk with her to make sure she didn't get wet, exhilarated and awed, she happily agreed. So, I opened my umbrella and covered us both up and we began walking. The feeling was sensational, a sense of curiosity and pleasure as this was the first time I've ever walked with a girl. As we walked, we talked even more, learned more things about each other and even exchanged numbers to talk more often, but everything reached its peak when she decided to hold my hand. This was really big deal as nobody's ever made physical contact with me like that and once I felt her hand hold onto mine I started to blush, but I held her hand too and she leaned her head onto my shoulder and we stayed like that until we made it to her house. Once we made it there, she thanked me for making sure she was safe and I reciprocated her by thanking her for keeping me company, so we said our goodbyes and I thought it was over, but then she did something I would never expect. Before she went inside, she turned around a gave me a kiss on the cheek and I was shocked, this was my first kiss, but I never expected it to happen this way and it caused me to blush harder than ever. She blushed just as hard as I did too and was the moment was over she said that she couldn't wait to see me tomorrow and I agreed, I couldn't wait to see her too. Once she walked inside, I walked away from her house feeling ecstatic, knowing I now have something to look forward to and make me excited everyday, for the rest of my high school years.
