We ran for what seemed like forever, my little sister and I. What had started as our usual battle practice with swords in the woods, had turned into a flee for our lives back into town. Being chased at high speeds unexpectedly was not my idea of fun.

“Castor, please.” My little sister whimpered. “I have to stop.” Sometimes I forget that her little nine year old legs aren’t as strong as my fifteen year old ones.

“Okay, Lilli,” I said stopping in the alleyway. “Only for a sec.”

The monsters were relentless and were scratching at the walls to get inside. These things were smart, eventually they’d climb the wall. We had to warn the authorities before they did. With a nod from my little sister, we began to run toward the town center to warn people. Before we got there, however, the wall burst, rocks and shrapnel flying in all directions. I pushed Lilli in front of me so she wouldn’t get hit. I, however, was hit by a rock right in the center of my back. I fell and my little sister screamed.

“Im okay, Lilli, I’m okay.” I said as I stood up shakliy. Honestly, though, I was hurt. My back ached fora rest as soon as I was able to get back to my feet. However, I knew that wasn’t possible. I needed to protect my sister. We ran into a nearby alley the safest place at the moment. Everything had descended into chaos. People were screaming and running everywhere; the monsters were howling and making awful screeching noises. We leaned up against the wall, and I had no idea what was coming next.
