I think I made it out—I hope I did. Freedom is not a feeling I’m used to as a Kason.

"You’ll be free once you pay us one million Kaslos," a deep voice cuts through.

Right.

I have to pay a price before I’m truly free. But no worries, I’ll find a way to pay them. I do owe it to them. If they were to ever get caught smuggling me, it would be their heads.

"Don’t worry, Jru," I nod firmly. "I’ll find a way to pay you back."

"The name is Jrudon," he rolls his eyes.

"Thank you for freeing me, Jrudon."
