It was Halloween, my favorite holiday. I was getting tired, it was time to go home. I started walking but it was too far. I decided to take a short cut through the forest. Trees left and right, nice green grass, and a large white shiny egg? I stood confused, just staring at the egg. I looked around and there were no other eggs. I glanced at the trees, no nests either. I didn’t know what to do so I took it home. I moved my bag of candy out of the way and put the egg in my wagon. It was very hard to pull a wagon with a very big egg in it and carry a bag of candy on my back. But it was good that no one could see me through the big trees of the forest. Though no one could see me just to be safe I put my ghost costume over the egg and started walking.

Finally after 20 minutes and 5 rest’s I was home. I put down the candy bag and took the egg inside. I wasn’t worried about my family seeing the egg because they were on a vacation due to my moms 31st birthday. I set the egg on my couch, expecting it to be an eagle, or a hawk or some type of bird. Surprisingly it hatched that very night. The egg was cracking, bits were falling out. Then (Pop) the bird (?)  popped out. It had 3 eyes, a black body, with green specks. It had a triangular chin with the top of its head flat and it had sharp pointy fingers. It was certainly no bird I had ever seen.

Immediately it started crying. I rushed to the kitchen and grabbed an apple. I tried to feed the bird alien thing but it refused the apple and threw it across the room! I went to the computer and looked up what alien birds eat. It said that scientists think aliens eat avocados. I looked confused thinking if avocado trees grew on mars. It really stumped me. I turned to the kitchen, but the baby was on the counter eating all the avocados in the house. I ran to the kitchen and grabbed the alien.

I went to the garage, grabbed a box, and put the alien in it. I took the box and carried it up the stairs. After I had arrived at my room I put the box on my  bed. I left the box there, went to the bathroom to brush my teeth, came back and the alien took all of my blankets, and was clicking buttons on the remote! Ran trying to stop him, but he ran right past my legs, into the bathroom, and shut the door. I tried to open the door, but he was holding it shut. I walked back and ran as hard as I could to the door. The alien couldn’t hold it and the door opened. I walked in, the alien was in the corner. He stared at me, like I was something he had never seen before. He walked up to me and hugged my legs. I realized he wasn't too bad after all. Then I carried the alien to my room and placed him in the pile of blankets to go to sleep. I shut the door to make sure he wouldn’t escape. 

After that I called my friend Athena to ask her to help me. I called her 3 times but she didn’t answer. Finally, I called her for the last time, and she picked up.

“Athena, can you help me?”  I asked.

“No, it’s 1:00 o’clock at night.”  She answered, sounding very tired.

“Please! I found a huge egg in the woods, walking home.”

“Sorry I can’t help you. Now I’m going to go back to sleep.” 

“Please.”

“Is the egg chocolate?”

“No.”

“Then good bye!” After that she hung up the phone. I put my phone down, and checked on the alien. He was already asleep. So I headed to bed myself.

I woke up at about 9:30 in the morning. I got up and put on my slippers and went to the bathroom. When I came back I walked to the pile of blankets,  the alien was not there. I looked all around, and he wasn’t anywhere! It was like he had vanished. Then I looked up at my window. It was broken! I rushed toward it! I looked out the window very carefully, making sure not to cut my self on the glass. No one was around. It must have been when I was sleeping! I walked back and stepped on a note. It read:

I am sorry this alien must have been horrible to you. But don’t worry, we have taken it to area 51 so it is not your problem any more.

I was so mad, madder than the emotion from “Inside Out”! I grabbed my bag, ran down stairs, snatched 4 avocados and 5 waters, and rushed out the door. I was going to go to area 51 and get back my alien! They had no right to take my alien! 

I walked to the nearest gas station, and pulled out my phone. I went to google maps and searched “area 51”. Good thing I lived in Las vegas.  Once the map finally pulled up it was a 2 hour walk!  I knew I was never  going to make it. I got an F in P.E.! I had to figure out a way to get there. I searched “how to get somewhere far when only 10 years old” Then my phone pulled up something called “Kids Cab”. It didn’t sound too safe but it was my only choice. 

5 minutes later the cab arrived, I got in the car and there was a divider between the front and the back.  Someone wrote on the divider that the ride was free, which was a relief because I didn’t have any money. As we were driving my phone got a notification. I opened the app, and It asked me where I wanted to go. I typed in Area 51, but it said the best we could do was drop me off at a hotel. I wasn’t too upset because I knew they would get in trouble if they drove up to it. Then it asked me my name, I simply typed in Alice. 

After 35 minutes of driving I was at the hotel.

So I started walking, then running, then walking, and finally I was at area 51.  Noone was around and I walked up to the gate. I looked around, there was only 1 camera. It turned to me, I quickly dogged the camera. It turned away.  I got up and inspected the gate. It was not  hard at all to get in, I just had to go underneath it. Once I got up from underneath it I hid behind a big barrale. From one barrel to another I carefully made my way to the front door. It was a big steel one.  I knocked on the door, it made a bang sound, and It really hurt my hand. Then I heard a beep sound, which meant that someone was opening the door. Straight away I moved behind the boxes. The man walked out of the door and looked around. I had to move more behind the boxes. Then the man looked around a little more and I got a glimpse of his name tag. His name was Henry. After Henry walked back through the door and rushed to it before it could close.

I got in the building, doors were everywhere. They were as steel as scissors. I walked around all the doors needed keycards to open. I turned right, in another hallway, at the end of it there was a big door, as big as the entrance one. In big red letters it said, chief science only. I looked around and there wasn't a keycard  needed to open it. It was a handprint. I was very curious, I pressed my hand against the ipad and the door opened? I was very confused. Why did it open to my hand print? I didn’t know. But I needed to save my alien!

I walked in the door and there were big tubes as tall as the wall with green goo inside. Science laboratory equipment like test tubes, beckers, and a microscope. I walked further into the lab, there was just more equipment. I turned and there I saw my alien in a tube! I was furious! I ran up to the tube and tapped on the glass but they must have put my alien to sleep. I started bangging on the glass, trying to wake up my alien. But it wasn’t working. Then I tilted my head left and saw another alien. The alien looked just like mine but bigger.  At that time I glimpsed at a computer. I walked up to it, immediately the computer opened. I sat down in the chair and looked at all photos and documents and nothing helped me. I moved the mouse but  there was a bump, I lifted up the mouse pad and there was a key! I looked at the tubes there were locks! I walked to the tubes and unlocked one. Green goo spelt everywhere but it wasn’t sticky it was rather warm. I moved over to the other one but then there was banging on the door and people were shouting “Open up!” I rushed to unlock the tube.

Finally I got both aliens out. In total the aliens weighed like 20 pounds. I myself weigh 70 pounds. I was surprised they weighed less than me. They kept on pounding on the door. Then I heard the door open! I looked around in a rush. I glanced at a vent rushed to it! Then people started waking in. Luckily there was a ladder right underneath the vent. I rushed up the ladder trying not to fall. I was at the top of the ladder, I had to push the vent for it to move.

 I crawled into the vents and pushed the ladder down. The vents were very small.  I scrambled through the vents, I could hear the people fixing the ladder. I tried to go faster but then someone was in the vents with me.

“Stop!” the man yelled.

“No you had no right to take my alien!” I shouted back.

“You better stop this instant! You could be on the FBI most wanted list if you don’t stop!” 

 I rolled my eyes. Finally I got to the end and pushed the vent to  the outside. I had escaped! I closed the vent and put a box in front of it. After I turned around I opened up my backpack and ripped an avocado apart. I put the pieces of the avocado in front of the aliens and they must have smelt the scent of the avocado because they woke up. Immediately the aliens swallowed the avocados, and I shouldn’t have left my backpack open because they ran to my bag and ate the rest of the avocados!  I ripped the aliens from my bag and then they looked at each other. It was like they've seen each other before. “They must be mother and son!” I thought. “That's why they look alike.” The two aliens walked up to each other and  hugged. I looked up and it was night? The last time I checked it was 1:43. How was it night? Confused, I looked at the aliens and they were floating (!) in a pink beam. I tried to grab them but it was like they were a hologram, my hand just went right through them. I stared at my alien, he waved goodbye. Then he and his mom were gone.
