POEM STARTER

Write an elegy about the death of something other than a person.

An elegy is a sad poem, traditionally expressing sorrow for someone who has passed away.

Beauty

They buried her slowly.

She wasn’t ready,

But still suffocated.

Supplements and cover-ups —

Pain and sweat —

Nothing could stop

The dirt that piled from above.

With each day

Regret piled on and

On and

On and

On.

It was painful:

The mirror,

Which shows the death of my dear friend:

Beauty.
