The Bathroom Mirror

_I look so ugly in every reflection, every photo except in this one specific bathroom mirror and only at night mind you. Still then I don’t look exactly how I want to look, but something about the face that stares back at me is undeniably better than the one I’m usually met with. Her features are sharper, her eyes glossier, her mouth smaller, softer. Something about it is… so- so captivatingly mesmerizing and yet not nearly good enough. Not nearly perfect enough._



The girl then puts her journal down and glances up to the clock mounted on the wall to her right. In thick red letters, a heavy contrast to its black background it reads 3:04 AM. She winces, “damn it’s late.” She then looks ahead of her to the mirror, the bathroom mirror. “God,” she mutters under her breath. “It really is unbelievable.”
