STORY STARTER
The house at the end of the street has been boarded up for as long as your protagonist can remember. Today, they decide to explore.
Background on The Trio
As the trio walked towards the rotting abandoned house they had to continuously make sure the others weren’t backing down. They had all agreed to do this for months now, though as they got closer their grip on each other kept on getting tighter with the anxiety that was coursing through their veins. Reaching the door the smaller boy took a deep breath and reached a shaking hand to grasp the door knob, pausing a moment in hesitation when faced with the thought of opening it.
“Are you guys completely sure that we want to go in here,” the dirty blond asked his two companions, silently wishing they’d agree and that they could just go back to his dad’s house and curl up together in the basement watching cheesy rom-coms, “I mean my dad was planning on making his famous wings… if you guys were more interested in doing that I mean.”
With a gentle sigh the curly haired girl rubbed her thumb over the hand not on the handle.
“Wyatt, dear, we already agreed to do this for our anniversary so we’re entering the building at the very least. It was Raphie’s one thing he wanted.”
The last member of their little trio bent down a bit and gently pressed a kiss onto the shorter boys temple before talking in an almost too gentle voice, “If you don’t want to go in that’s fine, I know you and Penny don’t like doing this as much as I do.” He pauses and looks at the two people he loved the most in the world, “It’s all of our anniversary so what you guys want to do matters too. If you’re interested I would be happy to cuddle and eat wings while watching those romances you two love so much.”
The pale boy and darker girl looked between each other before giving the other a nod and opening the front door to the abandoned house together. Raphael was surprised by his parters going into the house, though it still warmed his heart, as he entered he gave them both a peck on the cheek and took one of their hands in each of his.
“I love you two, but I’m serious, if either of you want to leave at any time I will carry you out and back home in a second.” He pulled them closer and put an arm around the two holding both of them, one on each side.
“And we both love you, now let’s get in there before I decide against following two white men into an old rotting building”
“When you say it like that Penny it sounds like we’re dragging you into this against your will,” Wyatt retorted leaning forward to look around his (perfect and caring) boyfriend at his (amazing and flawless) girlfriend, “If my memory serves correct, you were the one who brought up coming here in the first place.”
The two continue with their little back and forth as they walked, slipping their hands out from Raphie’s to let him explore the house as much as he wanted while they wondered around the main room looking at the few furnishings left, now all dust covered. After a few hours of looking around Raphael runs back to them holding something out to the pair.
“Here you go my darlings, my beating heart, my special flame. I was able to find the perfect anniversary presents for the two of you.” In each hand there was a small, beautiful, and who knows how old earring.
“It’s beautiful, but it’s only one pair of earrings for the two of us ya meathead.”
“I know, one for each of you and I found a ring that matches so I can wear in on a chain to match you guys. So there you annoying dork.”
As she watched her boyfriends argue, in their weird playfully flirty way. A small smile made its way across her face as she took one of the earrings and put it in her pocket before quietly leading them out of the house. As the trio walked out of the house and back to Raphie’s car, the two boys still flirtatiously bickering with each other. After loading into the car they made the short drive back to Wyatt’s house and head in. The rest of the night is peaceful, the loving trio disinfect the old jewelry by soaking it in cleaning alcohol for a few hours, other than that they eat the leftover wings in the fridge and curl up on the couch in the basement to watch movies before all falling asleep holding each other close and tight, yet also in a way that’s unimaginably gentle.
A quiet ‘I love you’ hangs in the air, no one said it but they can all feel it as they hold each other closer in their sleep.
