Chapter 2
A Dog, A Girl, And The Unknown. Book 2
Chapter 1
Stars, moons, and galaxies flashed around me as I was pulled into the underworld. My long-dead sister was flying next to me in a giggle storm. I, on the other hand was trying to keep in my breakfast. Maple was upside down trying to paw herself straight. “Follow me! It’s not much further!” Shouted Zoey, my sister. In case you have forgotten, I’m Izzy and 15 years old. I was really dizzy so I closed my eyes, and suddenly I was on a flat surface. When I opened my eyes I saw that we were on a white sandy beach. With a ocean of blood. Out far in the ocean I could see the wind-people swirling around, “that’s the faceless ones. Forever forgotten, just a memory in the wind.” Said Zoey. “Oh, I saw them in the graveyard. What are there names?” I asked. She blinked at me, “The faceless ones. I just said that.” “I mean there mortal living names.” I explained. “Oh, no one knows. Just there memory, like opening a door for you, or tipping extra because you need it.” She said wishfully. We walked to the mainland when I stepped on a skull. Oh. Of course white are made of HUMAN SKULL. I thought to myself and tried to go a little faster. Out of the blue Zoey asked, “did Peanut die?” Looking at Maple. Peanut was are old dog, and she was great, but Maple is too. “Um… yeah, but Maple is pretty great. Sorry kid. Didn’t you know? She must be down here somewhere.” Zoey looked at me, “Only pets come if the owner request them. I forgot when I died.” In a minute we were at a dead meadow.
Chapter 2
”this is meadow of graves. I know, sad names for everything, right?” She said. I laugh, “Whats next, lake of death?” “Ironically, that’s a real place.” She says, laugh too. “Anyway, be careful. These are forgotten souls. Unresting, mad, souls.” Gulp. As we walk through it, it seemed to murmur. We tiptoed through the weeds, afraid of setting the ghosts off. “Ew…” I said quietly, for there was a ARM laying on the ground. When we finally reached the end of the meadow, there is a small town. Zoey grabs my arm and leads me to a small cottage. “Welcome to my house! Do you like it?” I look up at the stained glass windows, dark oak door, the garden outside. Then I smell the candles lit inside. “Ya, how do you have such a good house?” I ask. “It based on if you were good or bad. I was chosen to be good, so I got a good house.” She said leading me into it. The furniture was very nice and comfortable. She handed me some hot cocoa. “Wow, this is so good! What the recipe?” I asked. “Oh, just blood, maybe ground up skulls.” I try not to spit it out, “chill! I’m kidding! Chocolate sauce and peppermint tea!” She said laughing. I relax, yet I can’t get that image out of my mind. “Anyway. This is my home, do you like it? You can have the top bunk, just like old times!” I smile, “maybe for a day, but then I should get home.” She frowns. “Can I show you the town?” I nodded.
Chapter three
She takes me outside and we run around going in and out of shops, and I was surprised, it had (mostly) normal stuff, people, and workers. But then I realized that Maple was gone. “Maple? MAPLE!!!” I couldn’t see her anywhere. Then I started to float around up into the clouds with Zoey. And then, all three came face to face with the judges of death. We moved into a bow.
