Riches Money Can’t Buy

“Empty out your pockets,” the TSA agent said.

“Okay,” he replied.

He then took one of the bins and filled it with his belt and pocket items. This included things like his worn out wallet, which was hanging on by a thread. Also, his keys with a small hand made charm that looked like it was made by a little girl.

That was just his right hand pocket, the left hand pocket also had items in it. This pocket contained a miniature pocket dictionary or medical terms, a small notebook and a pen.

For the last pocket, the pocket on his hoodie, he pulled out an inhaler, his pager, and his old flip phone. His final pull was this faded and torn picture of a beautiful woman around his age, from his back pocket. He placed all of these items in the bin and sent it through the machine.

He might not have had a lot of cash on him, but he was the richest man here. And all of these items together may not have weighed more than a couple of pounds all together, but to him they were the heaviest objects around. That just goes to show, you never know how deep someone’s pockets really are until they’re emptied.

“You’re all set Sir, enjoy your flight.” The TSA agent said.

“Thank you,” he replied.
