STORY STARTER
One day you can hear people’s thoughts. They know you can hear them.
Write a story about how this affects your relationships with your friends and family.
Listener
I can hear their thoughts. But for that, they can hear mine.
I can‘t choose WHEN I hear them, neither IF I hear them. I still remember how it started: It wasn‘t a special day. Not my birthday, not New Year… just one day. And if I would have known what would happen because of this, I think I would have killed myself. Yeah. Cause I am not always the good one in the story. Sometimes you can‘t choose your side. Sometimes it gets chosen.
I don‘t remember my name. It‘s cold and dark. Am I dead? What‘s going on here? I‘d love to know. Carefully I‘m looking around. Shit. I‘m naked. My eyes are running trough the darkness in case soneone is watching me. No. No one. Phew. I try to walk a little. It works. The ground feels sooty and somehow warm. My hands are a cold white tone and I have long fingers.
Suddenly the dark goes away. A wind sweeps through everything. And then a girl stands in Front of me. My first thought was: She looks like a crow. Really. That‘s not an insult. She just looked that way. And then I can hear her thoughts and she hears mine: „Duh, that guy looks scary. Why the hell is naked??“ And I think she heard that I called her a crow what didn‘t sounded nice. I wanted to say sorry, but I couldn‘t talk. That was so surreal! What the hell was going on???
I woke up from my school desk. „Mr. Hanson? May you answer my question?“ My teacher stood in front of me at the blackboard. „S-sorry, Professor.“ I stammered. She crossed her arms. „Luca Hanson. If you will fall asleep in class again, you go to the principal!“ „Yes. I‘m sorry Professor.“ I replied. What happened to me? My dream was strange. Because normally I am able to read minds only when I am awake. In dreams that shouldn‘t be possible. It felt so real. And the crow girl….
Chapter two:
I walked out of the classroom, it was our last lesson. At the moment a girl ran to me. It was Mia my sister. „Hey. Whats up?“ I grinned. „I’m fine. But I have to tell you something.“ She looked exited. „Oh yeah? What?“ „Nothing good.“ she confessed. I raised an eyebrow. Did she also dreamed weird? „Mike. He…. Well he has a girlfriend.“ I almost laughed. „Oh. Well, I know. Bye the way he‘s straight so… I don‘t have a chance anyways.“ Mia nodded. „Just wanted to tell you.“ Oh, you think now l‘m gay, right? I‘m not. I‘m bi.
I can read your mind to. But hey, you read mine all the time so it’s fair.
And yes, my crush is Mike the pretty soccer boy.
