The First Cry Of A Witch
Luna and Nero ran for their lives. Once again, they’re being chased by hunters. The hunters had all sorts of things. Like a knife that could hurt demonic . That could hurt Nero. When Luna realized this she clenched her fists making the trees come alive and swinging at the hunters. When I saw his eyes widen, then he smiled. “Nice thinking, Lun!” Luna rolled her eyes. “Again, its ‘Luna’! Not ‘Lun’!” “Yeah, yeah. You always say that.” Luna grumbled but decided to let it go. There was no point in arguing. Besides, she had more important things to worry about. “Watch out!” Luna yelled as sue pushed Nero out of the way of a flying bullet. “Thanks, Luna! My turn!” He shouted before disappearing. “Wait!” Luna shouted even though Nero was already gone from sight. Zephyr ran up beside Luna in his wolf form. He sniffed the air. “He’s at the old stone bridge!” He informed Luna. “Thanks, Zeph!” She immediately ran to the bridge. When she got there, she saw Nero against the stone wall, the knife lodged in his side. She quickly ran over to him when she realized. Zephyr ran behind her, looking for hunters. “Nero!” She yelled, her voice shaky. Nero looked up at Luna, trying to smile reassuringly, but failing and letting out a groan and a wince instead. Nero pulled the knife out of his side before collapsing to the ground. Luna fell to her knees beside Nero, holding her hands over the wound. “H-hold still” she stammered. Luna’s hands glowed purple as she tried to heal Nero. The knife was meant to kill demons like Nero, so it made it harder to heal Nero, taking a lot of energy to do so. So much that Luna couldn’t heal him at first. Luna’s hands shook as she tried to heal Nero. Nero moved his hand on Luna’s thigh, making her pause. “It’s okay.” Nero said weakly. “It’ll be okay.” Luna shook her head. “N-no. Its not. N-Nero, please.” At this point, tears were streaming down Luna’s face. Something that has never happened until now. Nero moved his hand to cup Luna’s face, wiping her tears with his thumb. “It’ll be okay, Lun.” She said, his hand dropping to his side. “I believe in you.” Nero said, his eyes closing. Luna wiped her face but more tears fell, replacing the others. Luna put her hands back over the wound, purple light coming from her hands again. When she was done, Nero didn’t stir. Thinking she failed, more tears flooded her eyes, falling on her face. She wrapped her arms around Nero, resting her head on his chest. “No…” she mumbled quietly. This time, she felt Nero stir, his arms wrapping around her. “I never took you as the cuddling type.” He said, smiling. Luna raised her head, surprised at first. Then she smiled, hugging Nero tightly. Nero hugged her back, sitting up. “You idiot.” Luna said into Nero shoulder. “You scared me half to death.” Nero chuckled. “Another accomplishment to add to my list then.” Luna smacked the back of Nero’s head playfully at his comment. Nero laughed and rubbed the back of his head. Zephyr walked up to them as a human. “The hunters left. They think that-“ He stopped for a moment. “Luna, have you been crying?” “Maybe a little.” Luna admitted. “That’s new. You’ve never done that before.” Zephyr said, pointing out the obvious. “Yeah, no shit, Sherlock.” Nero laughs, standing up. He helps Luna up as she speaks. “Come on. Let’s go home since the hunters left and none of us are actually dead.” Luna and Zephyr nodded.
