STORY STARTER

In a classic body swap scenario, you wake up as a famous philosopher, about to give a grand speech on the meaning of life to thousands of people.

What will you tell them?

The Life You’ll Never Understand

“I know that this is important so I won’t waste anymore time”

I look upon the audience of thousands about to give a speech to a crowd of people I don’t even know as a girl I don’t know. I take a deep breath.

“ I didn’t come here to feed you a mouthful of lies. I came to tell you the truth, my truth. Sadly this speech has to be said because some people will never understand. Some of different experiences whether it’s born brave, rich, mean. Will always be different then the other side. That side being the people that don’t talk, who don’t have an option, and don’t like opinions. However, that can also be the case for those born rich.

What I want to talk about is the “mean” the people that drag people through the mud in order to build on their success, on their reputation and let us wander through our grave of grievances. These people will never have a single thought behind their eyes saying “Kill them with kindness” instead it’s “no, just kill them period” don’t let them gain power, friends, or a status. They see us as inferior and unable to think alone, unable to process, unable to say anything. And some of us can. But what about that quiet other half of us that just don’t want to, that will continue taking blows, over and over again because we just become so numb to the feeling and just separate from reality. Is this seen as okay, would our future self’s allow this type of cruelty. This is considered neglect and maybe you can’t change the way you react by tomorrow but at least know that I care and you can share your pain with those around you, because it is there and it is eating at you.”

BE KIND TODAY, NOT TOMORROW
