Fire And Stone

The first thing I saw when I awoke was darkness. it was cold, wet, dark, and so lonely. My legs wouldn't obey me and my arms... Were like fans large, webbed and folded against my small frail body. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, my two legs, such small stubby things finally moved, but not with the support of my strange new arms. Crawling out of a pile of steaming stench, I tumbled and fell onto something cold and wet. I still couldn't see anything. Why is it so dark? Shaking Off a few pebbles and rocks I began to move again only this time to a pile of cold red fleshy stuff. I gave it a sniff, it smell odd, but I took a bite, wasn't too bad so I took another bite, and then another. I was full now, but now what do I do? Sniffing the air, I smelt something else, something new, so logically I went to go and check it out. As I got closer, the sound of it scuffling about got louder and more desperate. I should have stayed curious, because what jumped out at me was something horrifying. it was huge, fluffy and had way too many legs. Eight, I counted eight legs on it and with fangs the size of my boney little head. I cried out and ran, or flailed away from the eight legged abomination as fast as I could. Stumbling over sharp pointing things and unable to see where I was going, I thought this was the end for me and my scrawny scaly hide. But just when I thought all hope was lost, the grown and stones around me began to tremble under a footsteps much much larger than mine. Then out of the darkness, a face like mine, bony, and sharp appeared, though this face was much larger, and much scarier. When I looked behind me to see it that terrifying creature was about to make me it’s next meal, it was gone, ran away like the little fluffy coward it is. I turn back to the large reptilian face shaped like mine and purred. Mother had returned.
