A journey.

Be it 10 steps or a million, every single one is important.

I had always loved the outdoors, surrounding myself with nature and the openness it offered. I had no money, very little food and even less water.

But I was content.

I had set off on my journey with no clear destination in mind, exactly how I wanted it. No means of transport save for my own two legs and feet.

Weeks or months had passed and I knew I looked a fright. My hair was a mess, I had a beard from not being able to shave and my clothes were worn and old. Hidden only by the light waterproof jacket I was wearing, utop which rested my backpack that contained all my supplies, such as they were.

I held a compass in my hand as I tried to navigate the terrain.

I had found a simple road surrounded by the dense woods that surrounded it and while I loved being cut off from civilisation I also needed it to help me.

Which is how I found myself walking along the road, thumb outstretched, hoping to catch a ride from a passing vehicle.

I had no destination in mind, the way I liked it. No plan was the best way to open my horizons.

All I had to do, was keep moving forward. Never backwards.
