We were the last of our kind

My remains burnt, stuck on a shelf

Hung by my heels where the reaper nods

But somehow we pushed through the fear

Only two of a hundred made it out

Me and you, we survived the shots and smoke

Only God knows how we dodged the execution

Me and you, we have angels on our shoulders

I used to be afraid to live, lost in my doubt

Gave up my soul, gave up on my heart when it broke

Now, at last, we can bask in this divine restitution

Climb back up the hill without pushing those old boulders.
