Chapter 1 - Broken humanity

Is life fair or is it what you make of it?

If you’re born low with little to show for your existence does that mean you were dealt a bad hand.

Then again if your born high. Are you destined for greater things knowing you have greater assets to show for it.

The topic may be complex but the reality is simple. Life is not fair but you are given Opportunities to change it.

Spilt second moments or drawn out years. These could lead to everything you ever wanted.

That’s my opinion Atleast.

I was born lowly but I consider myself rich on life. Financially and my social standing in society my be lowly. But I don’t find myself wanting.

Well I guess that’s a bit of a lie. There is something I want. Something more than anything.

I wish I could see the stars at night…

Part 1

Heavily breathing with sweat dripping form my face. I find myself running through a forest.

With each step my bare feet crush the dirt below. The trees parting way for me to increase my distance, I see the sun begin to rise over the mist soaked path before me.

My daily activity in the early hours of what I hope are the morning in reality are always a great way for me to process the sleep that came before.

My mind is always haunted by the night sky and longing to see the sun rise.

My chest was pounding and my heart was racing as I reached my physical limit. It was time to stop.

“Deactivate holo projector” I stated.

The projection of the serene forest that was before me dissolved into nothing and I found myself staring at a dark wall with blacked out windows.

A depressing reality compared to the fantasy I choose to be greeted with every morning.

Sweat coating my body and clothing. I felt frustrated yet again that I couldn’t make it to the end of the projection to witness the sun fully rise. Well aware that I couldn’t just advance the projection but that wasn’t the point. Endurance running was a favourite activity of mine. Well any exercise really. Anything that pushes my limits in a given moment.

I stepped off the treadmill and walked towards the shower, grasping a bottle of electrolytes whilst in motion. Practiced movements I repeat every day if I’m able.
