STORY STARTER

Despite their friends’ advice, a character vehemently believes they can ‘fix’ their love interest...

Ladybug On A Leaf

“Can I…poison them?”

“No.”

“Kidnap them?”

“No.”

“Stab them?”

“Cathe, what the hell?”

She rolled her eyes, turning her head toward the little picture above her bed.

It was a painting of a ladybug on a leaf—tiny, delicate soul just trying to figure out life.

“Then what?”

She sighed at last.

“You could simply ask him to meet up, and talk it through”

“I don’t want to”

“Well, I don’t see no other option”

“But I do….”

“Stop.”

Cathe crossed her arms, glaring at the painting as if it where conspiring with her friend.

“Maybe if I just—“

Her friend pinched the bridge of her nose,

“Cathe, listen to yourself! You sound like a cartoon villain plotting their master plan. Just talk to him! Talk! Thats all!”

“But..”

“No buts!”

Her eyes softened, lips curling up in defeat.

“Fine..”

She quietly said, resisting the urge to argue back with her back-up statements.

Her friend smiled, gently patting her shoulder.

“It’s going to be ok, trust me.”

Catherine nodded, though she was already somewhere in the back of her mind rather than listening, planning out her perfect little plan.
