I can’t keep loving her and she knows it. I told her I’d never be a perfect man, nor anywhere close. Not with all my flaws or my tainted past. She needs to be placed in a spotlight, not held back not shrouded by curtains. The curtains of my burden on her. She’d be so much more if I let her go free though she insists she doesn’t care. Insists she can change me; make me a better man. She can’t. I’m always going to be who I’m going to be. And I want to see her soar, even if I’m not the one helping her there. I need to let her fly.
