What a lovely day

To celebrate everything—

the trees,

the people,

the ground,

the animals,

the Sun,

the Earth,

everything.

We’ll settle in the forest,

where it all began

It must be perfect

Everyone’ll see—

lanterns and candles

All ‘round

Set the table

With wooden plates

Everyone gets one

As well as a chair

Let the nature seep through the lights

Let the guests soak up the sunlight

Let the wind dance through the trees

Prepare the feast—

berries,

pies,

every kind of meat,

desserts

Something for every kind

Birds,

foxes,

bears,

squirrels,

deer,

owls,

insects,

rabbits,

raccoons,

wolves,

snakes,

toads,

porcupines,

mice.

They’d all be there

And so,

we’ll gather ‘round the table
