STORY STARTER

He had been so charming at first, sweeping her off her feet and enveloping her in love. But now, he was no charming gentleman. He was The Hunter. And she was his prey.

Emotional Attachment

Nightfall didn’t know what to think of Beacon’s plan.

She wanted this to involve the least amount of people possible. Since Brainwash is her problem.

But she knows Beacon is right. If Nightfall can’t hurt him, they will need help to stop him before he goes too far.

He aims to control everyone. That way, there will be no violence. No crimes. No anything.

That comes with no free will. He is misguided and is getting lost in the mission. He is consumed by his power. And it is eating away at him until his civilian persona will soon be no more.

It scares her. To acknowledge that the man she once knew, the one she used to trust, might not be in there. She has to keep going or more people will get hurt and not even know it.

He thinks of himself as the hunter. That because she won’t hurt him, that makes her his prey. The thing about that statement is it comes with an obvious loophole.

She might have too many feelings to do so, but others do not.

Beacon, or any of the allies that she’s calling, don’t have the attachment that she does to the fading humanity in this dangerous man. They will only see him for what he is transforming into. The man who wants to control everyone’s minds.

So when the time comes, Nightfall hopes that she’ll be able to let him be stopped. Whether that be by prison or death.

Part of her wishes for the less morbid option, but the man she once knew is most likely already gone.

It’s as if his powers are puppeteering an empty husk that has no soul.

Hopefully it won’t be difficult at all to let him go.
