POEM STARTER
Write a poem that is grotesquely romantic.
This could mean a poem that’s overly lovey-dovey, one that has a romantic theme but grotesque imagery, or something else altogether.
Beautiful Him
Bright as the sun, he brings the sunshine
Breath taker, I can hardly breathe in his presence
I need a pace maker, my heart runs for its life
Forgetting having him in our life is a present
Confidence shaker, I can’t believe he gets to look at me
Quietly, I ask my breath to catch itself
On a daily, I feel like I am floating
Gravity forgetting I’m no exception to the rule
I’m like a dandelion seed floating in the wind waiting to be grounded and kissed by his sunshine
Basking in it, feeling all his warmth
His hair is long and curly
Flows like a river coming down a mountain
His eyes dark like obsidian
Still a wonder to look into
His chest so bold
You want to touch, admiring the physical beauty something like gold
Dimples so shallow you wonder how many kisses it can hold
Arms so muscular you never want to leave his embrace
His kindness and sweetness is so evident on his face
He brings the sunshine and takes my breath but brings me a smile I’ll never want to erase
He brings warmth, beauty, wonder and more
Beautiful him, beautiful he I do adore
Beauty I see, beautiful he loved by me
