Chapter 2
Bullet
I ready my machete, waiting for the woman’s next move. Kneeled over her best friend’s dead body, she turned her eyes to the sky.
Then, she spun around with unbelievable speed.
I was surprised, until I saw her eyes. Those hazel eyes were soft; eyes that don’t belong to a killer. Then, they gained an intensity that I as a bounty hunter will never truly understand, but, at that moment, I got it: she had made… a promise maybe.. no, a vow under the stars with the midnight sky. And that was how I knew that this would be the end of me.
The bullet pierced me, stopping my heart, and I fell to the ground, feeling the grass beneath me. Right then, I had lost. But finally, I felt free.
