Hiding
chapter 2 part 1

"We don't _have_ to look for him, you know," Trey said.
"He's our friend, of course we have to look for him!" Carlee retorted.
Trey groaned and got up. "I don't know if you noticed, but this basement is _tiny_."
Amber elbowed him. "Whatever we do, I'm staying with Carlee."
"What, why? You always go with me!" Trey reminded his girlfriend.
"But Carlee is clearly the bravest of all of us, so I'm going with her, hmph," Amber pointedly turned away from him.
Carlee nodded and tossed her arm around Amber's shoulders. "You boys can search for Dylan together."
"...Sure," Luca agreed reluctantly. "We'll search the left side of the room, you two search the right side."
"Great! Let's go Amber," Carlee pulled Amber to their side.
"No!" Trey shouted.
Carlee and Amber froze and turned around.
"We are not splitting up. We search this basement for Dylan together or not at all," Trey decided.
"Why can't Carlee and I have girl time?" Amber demanded. "I never get to hang out with her alone and I finally get to and you won't let me!"
"Because it's out of character! You only never hang out with her alone because you don't want to!" Trey pointed at her at the last part.
"Stop fighting, I think I know where Dylan went," Carlee interrupted.
Luca, Trey, and Amber turned in her direction where she was standing in front of a now open hidden door. They all filed inside.
"Long and creepy hallway behind a hidden door, not scary at all," Trey said sarcastically, catching Luca's eye. "Luca, can I talk to you for a second?"
"Yeah, why not," Luca shrugged.
Trey yanked him away to a private corner of the hallway. Luca waited for Trey to start speaking.
"I don't think those girls are who they say they are anymore," he murmured finally.
"We're all hiding something," Luca agreed.
