The sun finally rose and filled my eyes
Bright blue finally glowed and filled my skies
The wind flows through my soul and sighs
Even though the night was long
I smile more
I see the open door
I feel like I did when I was four
Even though the voices were strong
I look back at where I once stood
I thought back then I never could
I wish I could hug me and tell her she would
Even though she’d scream I was wrong.
If someone asks me, “How are you?”
“You seem different, what did you do?”
I’ll say, “I’ve changed, I am, if only you knew.”
Now I sing a happier song.
