Why do roses wear they thorns
Warding off the hand that yearns
Still the bloom give no warning
Yet the scared hand still adorning
Why do roses blush in sunlight
Yet they cut and scratch and bite
Still the pedals wait in silence
While the bloom conceals it’s violence
