Oh Earth, Oh Earth
Oh earth, oh earth, how can you be,
So perfect in your geography?
Your mountains tower, your rivers run free,
Your wondrous terrain is a sight to see.
Your incredible beauty is truly divine,
With oceans of blue and forests of pine,
Atop every hill, there is a view,
Representing nature, proud and true.
You have many natural features to boast,
Like the beaches that stretch across your coast,
And emerald forests where vibrant birds sing,
With you there is beauty in everything.
There is wonder in every sloping valley,
Each sprouting shrub has a story to carry,
Every passing season brings a new tale,
Whispered in the sound of the rain and the hail.
The sun will shine and the mist will shroud,
And rain will fall from every cloud,
Each thing on your surface has a past,
And this perfect state should forever last.
However, the destructive humans came,
On whom great evil is to blame,
They appeared with tools and foul machines,
And they chopped down your shrubs and your emerald trees.
Their evil had never before been seen,
They removed your forests and pines of green,
They polluted your oceans and vast blue sea,
With harmful plastics that were new and nasty.
On your fertile land they built huge buildings,
That pumped out weird fumes and harmful things,
Their cars and factories emitted toxic smoke,
That clouded the air and made you choke.
So please be careful, please take heed,
There is no end to the human’s greed,
Their hunger is endless, they just devour,
There is no stopping their sinister power.
Oh earth, oh earth, what has happened to you,
To your forests of green and oceans blue,
I thought your beauty would always last,
Something needs to be done, and it must be done fast.
