Selfish Son
Thank you dad for watching me grow
I know it took a while.
You taught me to work, you taught me to throw
And you did it all with a smile.
You protected and provided for our family
Not to mention you took care of mom.
You planted our roots like a great big oak tree
You’re the king of our little kingdom.
Now your all wrinkled and get called papa
You’ve dove into a new role.
You and mom laugh that you’re a grandpa
But love that the family’s whole.
You prepared me for life, it’s all thanks to you.
Now you’re ready for wings and halo,
And I’ll be okay, we both know that it’s true.
But dad I don’t want you to go.
