A silent cloud, snuffed by the wind—

A prisoner of sky, waiting to be saved.

My pencil vanished,

lost forever

among the missing,

the gone,

the never.

My white fluffy sock—

probably under a rock

in a field of daffodils,

its softness

hidden in yellow.

My very first school lunch—

I have a hunch

it was stolen,

devoured.

With one final crunch,

it let out a wail—

but to no avail.

I was distant.

Away.

Never to be

seen again
