POEM STARTER

‘If desires are a flame, then I am a wildfire.’

My Light
Deep in my heart I can feel my fire burning.
A passion beyond lust or infatuation.
A foreign feeling.
Scary and raw.
Days once difficult are easy.
Our only obstacle is distance.
A hurdle soon jumped.
And that fire rages on inside.
More fierce than the molten aftermath of Pompeii.
Deeper than the Mariana Trench.
I never knew what love was until now.
What fire burns in my heart once cold.
How beautiful this world can be.
And how I feel I can face even the darkest days with a smile.
You are the sunshine that pierces the clouds.
The rain in a drought.
The cool moonlight after a sweltering day.
Daybreak on a freezing night.
Everything I never knew I needed.
