POEM STARTER

Write an ode to an extinct animal, without ever saying the animal’s name - this rule also applies to the title.
Extinct
You’ve been gone for centuries,
Maybe you’re just hiding?
You don’t know what you meant to me,
On you I’ve dreamt of riding.
Your size is hard to comprehend,
You wouldn’t lose a fight.
Except the one that caused your end,
Against a meteorite!
