The Sun And Her Shadow
The gate separated the two rival kingdoms of light and darkness. While these kingdoms never wanted to interact, they never could because the gate was locked by some kind of magic no one knew how to open.
Both kingdoms had a heir, on one side a prince and the other a princess. One day the princess found the gate and found the prince on the other side of it.
“Who are you?” the princess with eyes of chocolate and the hair of honey that framed her heart shaped face asked with curiosity as she played with her hair in anxiousness.
“I am the prince,” he stated as he looked at her, shifting his posture in challenge and his eyes dancing with amusement. “And who are you?”
She shrunk under his gaze but then thought better of it and lifted her head high. “I am the princess.” she replied pointing the challenge back at him with an icy stare.
They both stared at eachother in challenge , curiosity, and questioning. How could their be a prince and a princess who aren’t related to each other?
They both bowed, than looked at eachother and stared laughing with nervousness as the princes eyes crinkled around the corners and the princesses hands shook.
As the prince stood up straight and fixed his jacket he saw how the sun framed the princesses beauty. Highlighted her freckles, made her eyes shine even more then they already did, made her smile wider. Also the way she laughed, her nervous actions, the way she played with her hair.
He stood aghast as he looked at her looking back and realized how light and relaxed he felt with her.
“I have to get back now,” she mentioned as she looked back at him and smiled lightly then started walking away.
“Wait!” he shouted as he put out his hand but when she turned around put it down quickly. “Will I ever see you again?”
“Of course you will. You just have to look for me in the right places.” she promised and started untieing her dress.
The prince blushed and looked away but the girl walked up to him in shorts and a short sleeved shirt and handed him her ring. Then she reached through the gate and pulled his face towards her and put a light kiss to his lips.
Then she took of her heels and ran through the grass and the boy watched in amazement at her freedom.
