The Ballerina

‘Diamonds are beautiful, but they are also strong.’

Standing on my toes, head down, hands creating a circle by my torso. I wait, for just one simple word, a word that could define my whole future.

“Just like magic!” I hear, and off I go, dancing to the music, just like Madam Lyule taught me too.

I dance a swift as a feather, staying on my tippy-toes for the whole dance, I am as graceful as a swan.

I must make this dance special, I must be the star, I must look my best, and be my best.

As a dancer as must be as pretty and as delicate as butterfly wings, but still strong enough to hold myself in every position, and dance for hours, even when my muscles are aching to stop.
