WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a letter to a friend, from the perspective of someone living 100 years in the future.
What commonplace things might they mention that would surprise a reader now, and how can you use these to drive an interesting narrative?
Ode
*not the prompt*
Ode to the roses and their sweet sorrow,
Stained by the blood of Cupid’s arrow,
Burnt from the fire of the torches of Nero.
I have not seen such beauty since
You took the roses when you left
After you killed me with the thorns on their stems
Dipped in poison that sought my heart.
Tainted my blood with love and sin.
Place them at my grave once I die
By the stone that says,“ here, lies the fool that was left behind.”
So I can see their petals fall one more time.
