POEM STARTER
Mysteries of the Night
Whether something natural and beautiful like the stars, or something more sinister, write a poem that focuses on things that are most prominent at night.
the fog
The fog is thick tonight. Almost as if it’s hiding something… or someone. At this point you wish you had brought your phone. Dont all the horror movies start like this? Either no phone, no battery, no signal or no source of light, perhaps everything. Only the moon. But in front of it there’s this white veil, making it hard to see. Swallowing everything that dares to go into it. You wouldn’t see it if there’s something in front of you. Not until you see two dots, brighter than the rest of the forest, suddenly appearing right before you. Starring you down, making you frozen, not able to scream or move or run. Which you should in that moment. Run before its too late. Before it catches you. Or is it even able to? Maybe it’s as terrified as you are in that moment. Maybe it doesn’t want to harm you. Or maybe it’s not even there? Is it possible that that was just a fragment of your imagination? Was it really there? Or did you just watch too many horror movies. You squeeze your eyes shut and slowly open them again. Is the monster still there? Is it gone? Thats for you to decide…
Dont judge me, i dont know what i‘m doing.
