STORY STARTER

Submitted by Taylor Amerson

A lone, aged man wanders across the wild land searching for something.

What does he seek?

Granted Life

I saught out the phantom touch of love that was once there

To reach and to beg

Love was my old self, the young version of me , the one I took for granted, now I have lost everything, including myself.

I have lost my youth, my worth, my place on this earth. I’m nothing but a root in the ground. I’m searching for someone I could’ve been if not for the fear of being outcast.

I reach out to life.

I wonder across the planes of the lands searching for that beauty of the things I did not see before, like how a plant withers, how plant blooms, how the leaves on the trees sway in the wind, how the water flows, the birds sing and the cicadas ring. But most of all how I’m still living. I’m searching for something I already have and that is me. I learned to stop wanting and to be grateful for the things I have in the present. I am glad to grow old with the earth because there is beauty in change. So I may be lone, but I sure am done wandering for something i already own.
