POEM STARTER

Submitted by SmileyGuitar

Write a poem that starts in a cheerful, bright mood, but then reveals underlying anger or bitterness.

What I’m Made Of

I used to walk every day

Knowing sunshine will ignite me

And whenever it did

It would fill my heart with glee

I used to look at online insults

Like they were nothing special

But after one big push

My angry side started to rattle

I’d shut every hater down

With a line as sharp as a knife

And when they ran away

I was no longer full of strife

People think it’s me being bitter

Destroying villains that way

But they don’t know what I’m capable of

When my kindness starts to decay
