Dream Logic
I lay down my head as the world fades from reality.
Everything real is replaced with pure insanity.
My dream grabs me by the neck it’s polished figure fades into my sister’s.
Her long brunette hair flows down her back.
But at a second glance it shifts into a tree.
It’s emerald green leaves give birth to a bird who flies into the nights merciless eyes, giving way to pops of color.
Eventually becoming fireworks as bright as the sun, eventually turning into one.
It’s stays strong, and ruthless with an armor of yellow until it bursts, fire falling upon earth.
The vast sea calls for the flames, and fire finds its way to water.
The beach is a darling thing, dusty shades of yellow meet mesmerizing shades of blue.
I intensely stare at the ocean’s blue as the waves fade into two piercing feline eyes.
Sand forms around the eyes, around the water at its side.
Forming the face of a cat, the face of _my_ cat.
My scrappy little yellow thing pounces at me.
I brace myself as contact is made.
But then the wind turns her back into particles of sand, blowing in the breeze.
Her eyes turn back to water, and fall back into the sea.
The sand twirls into dandelion seeds coasting along summer’s breeze.
One gets caught in my right eye.
I try to get it out.
I blink a couple times.
And when I open my eyes again, I’m sitting up in my bed at night.
The window displaying the stars in the sky.
It was just a dream, and the cat is still curled up at my feet.
I close my eyes again, falling back into sleep.
And the dream I just had replays itself to my mind all over again.
