Insecure

I don’t want to stick out like a weed in a field of wildflowers,

So I put on another coat of makeup,

Another fake smile is plastered on my face,

Another day of brushing through my long blond hair.

I wish my hair was short and purple, wouldn’t that be pretty? But nope, that doesn’t fit the code of a teenage girl apparently.

Maybe I’m too insecure…

Are all these other people pretending too?

Why can’t we all just tell each other how we really feel, because then nobody would judge each other. But nope, Anyone who even suggests something different gets exiled to a life of bullying.

I know they don’t actually mean it.

There’s always a reason for why they do it.

Probably insecure…

But it still hurts, so that’s why I don’t want to be the weed in a field of wildflowers.
