My Autumn🍁

I walked to a cozy cafe called “Vemories” on the corner of the block. Red and yellow Leaves led the way, and the smell of rain lingered in the air.

“Welcome in!” A kind lady with curled, luxurious, blonde hair responded.

“Thank you,” I called back, then let the moment soak in. Lofi music played quietly in the background, the coffee maker trickled, and the smell of sweet pumpkin pie filled the air.

It all felt like fall.

I sat down in a chair, working on a drawing.

“Hey stranger,” a guy sat down. I smiled widely, my boyfriend.

“Long time no see,” I laugh, then pause, “Isn’t this place perfect?” I reply—all giddy.

“Yeah. Did you see the red tree on the walk here?”

“Mmhmm,” my face lit up.

“I took a photo for you,” he said, putting his phone up proudly.

He smiled, making my heart skip a beat. My cheeks felt flushed, and a smile nipped on my lips. Len was such a caring guy and I didn’t expect less.

“I love it.” I flash a smile.

“Did you order anything?” He asked.

“Nope, I waited for you. I’ve been eyeballing the pumpkin chai latte.”

“Yum. You want me to get another fall drink, so you can try it?”

I smiled, “You sure? You don’t have to!” I grabbed his hand in excitement.

“Yeah, I want to try it too.” He knew me way too well.

“You know—“ I squint at him.

“What?” He sat content, waiting for my answer.

“Are you sure you’re real?”

“You want to check?” He flirted with me.

I looked around embarrassed, hoping no one heard.

“Come here,” I gestured.

He came closer, and I went to whisper in his ear, but kissed his cheek instead.

He smiled—bewildered.

“I got you,” I whisper.

“No. I got you,” He grabbed my hand, and gave me a wholehearted smile.

I’m falling for you, just like the leaves fall in the autumn. You’re my autum.

🍁🍂

Little note: If you’re waiting for love—like me—be patient. It will find you 💕 Just like the falling leaves, you still have plenty of seasons.
