My Autumnđ
I walked to a cozy cafe called âVemoriesâ on the corner of the block. Red and yellow Leaves led the way, and the smell of rain lingered in the air.
âWelcome in!â A kind lady with curled, luxurious, blonde hair responded.
âThank you,â I called back, then let the moment soak in. Lofi music played quietly in the background, the coffee maker trickled, and the smell of sweet pumpkin pie filled the air.
It all felt like fall.
I sat down in a chair, working on a drawing.
âHey stranger,â a guy sat down. I smiled widely, my boyfriend.
âLong time no see,â I laugh, then pause, âIsnât this place perfect?â I replyâall giddy.
âYeah. Did you see the red tree on the walk here?â
âMmhmm,â my face lit up.
âI took a photo for you,â he said, putting his phone up proudly.
He smiled, making my heart skip a beat. My cheeks felt flushed, and a smile nipped on my lips. Len was such a caring guy and I didnât expect less.
âI love it.â I flash a smile.
âDid you order anything?â He asked.
âNope, I waited for you. Iâve been eyeballing the pumpkin chai latte.â
âYum. You want me to get another fall drink, so you can try it?â
I smiled, âYou sure? You donât have to!â I grabbed his hand in excitement.
âYeah, I want to try it too.â He knew me way too well.
âYou knowââ I squint at him.
âWhat?â He sat content, waiting for my answer.
âAre you sure youâre real?â
âYou want to check?â He flirted with me.
I looked around embarrassed, hoping no one heard.
âCome here,â I gestured.
He came closer, and I went to whisper in his ear, but kissed his cheek instead.
He smiledâbewildered.
âI got you,â I whisper.
âNo. I got you,â He grabbed my hand, and gave me a wholehearted smile.
Iâm falling for you, just like the leaves fall in the autumn. Youâre my autum.
