“Here comes another one.” Han spoke softly. He followed this up with a nudge on my back with his straw rake. I peered up from my work to see a road weary adventurer greeting the temple’s hesdmaster. “They seem strong. Maybe stronger than the last two.” Han jeered quietly.

I began raking with more intent, hoping that would drown out the subtle jeering Han enjoyed so much at the sight of new visitors. He couldn’t resist to try and pester anyone new that blew into the temple. Where adventurers gave Han some entertainment, they always filled me with a sense of longing. I once held the training staffs against these travelling adventurers. Training them in the lost arts our temple holds sacred. Though my path began to stray, I had to take time to refocus my energies. Thus why I clean the temple grounds in the way I try to clean my mind and energy.

Maybe one day I will be back there. Training the arts again. Or travelling with an adventurer if selected.

Maybe…someday.
