STORY STARTER
The day you've been waiting for has finally arrived...
Hunger
Hunger has consumed my train of thought. Animals fear me. Humans don't dare to come near me. Nor even the mountains that bear me. I can never leave, for if I do, I'll be shot like a criminal. Like I've done something wrong. All I've done is answer my hunger. And that same hunger, seems to have a toll on me.
I dreamt for the day that someone, something would come to this area. I can't even catch a deer, for Heaven's sake. But the day that I've been waiting for has come. An automobile, so they call it, driving through the dirt path of the canyon. None the wiser, they crept past my mountain range before their automobile stopped. The round tires screeched to an odd halt.
Four humans- all of different shades, emerged from the car. Emotions of confusion, rage, and paranoia leaked from their seams. One girl, one of blonde, beautiful hair that fell across her face in layers, seemed to huff and puff. The one who was the shortest didn't care, shrugging off as the one with immensely pale skin spoke to her. The final one placed a comforting hand on the blonde girls shoulders, to which she swatted away.
The blonde girl, the beautiful one. The rage in her was unmatched. I'm not sure what she is angry at, perhaps the fact that she doesn't know me yet. Maybe that's it. Anyways, the short one had treachered upwards toward the mountain. I took this as an opportunity to strike. Before she made it all the way up, I carved three tree stumps.
If you're wondering why I did only three, it's because I would practically spare the blonde one. Instead, I'd possess her. Certainly, I need another way to get back into human contact. She seemed to angry, as if she knew everything, but in reality, the girl was so clueless. Her knowledge only extended to her imagination.
As the young girl hiked her way up near me, her senses seemed to heighten. She became aware. I could tell, because she stopped dead in her tracks. In short, I attacked her and set her aflame. On the tree stump she burnt, before the other two had come near me. I only burnt one of them, but they were enough. The darker girl had been put on a sharpened branch, rather than a stump.
At last. The blonde.
I was hungry, and using my due diligence, I assumed she wouldn't come up here on her own. Certainly not. She knew better out of all of them. I knew it.
I had to get her myself. I could step into her shoes and understand her fear. But I need her.
Going down the mountain range, she saw me. Fear instilled her body. She was paralyzed for a few moments, before quickly running backwards. If only she knew I didn’t mean harm.
After chasing her for a couple of miles down the path, she diverted into the dense forest.
As I was running, I couldn’t see a thing. But, I heard her squeal. How niche.
Her squeal led me to her, to which water stopped down out of her beautiful eyes. Like a crystal form, they dropped off of the sides of her cheeks. She stiffened her body, jerking her chin up.
While trembling, the blonde girl put up a shaky hand, displaying a finger on the middle of her digits. As she did, she walked backwards.
Not to my knowledge, a large cliff was behind her. She fell, not a single sound coming from beneath the cliff.
Except the sound of splashing water.
I looked down, anger fueling my body. She was nowhere to be found. Not even on the rocks or the stream. Out of fear, the girl willingly died just to not be near me.
My hunger was gone, but the need for someone like her to possesses was imminent. I couldn’t get rid of it.
No matter how hard I tried.
