Deadly Games

(Temporary title, idk what to title this yet)

Story:

The man who lurked in the shadows, no one knew his name, his face…nothing, just that menacing voice.

The noise of a microphone being tapped on was heard, making everyone in the room freeze up, their eyes going to the front of the room where the main stage is.

The man’s voice filled the room, making everyone’s hearts race with fear.

“This will be the last game….rules are fairly simple…You have ninety seconds to hide…if you are found. You die.” He said, chuckling.

Everyone was scared and silent.

Then a click of a gun was heard.

“Now…good luck.” The man said…

Everyone stayed put for a second.

A sigh was heard from the mysterious man.

“GET MOVING!” He suddenly yelled and with that everyone then scattered, pushing each other down, stepping on each other’s feet, and knocking each other to the ground.

But one guy in particular made it out of the crowd without hitting the floor by some miracle, he ran as fast as his legs would take him.

60 seconds left.

He kept running, people following behind, and gunshots filled the air, making them all flee faster.

He made a sharp turn.

40 seconds…

The ones behind him went straight…little did they know that led to nothing…

No hiding.

Nothing.

20 seconds.

The guy tripped over a wooden square on the ground, he looked at it, he looked around, and then nudged it with his foot.

It slid over, exposing a part of a dugged-out hideout of sorts, an old-looking ladder leading down.

Since there were 10 seconds left and heavy footsteps neared, the guy scrambled and pushed the piece of wood all the way over and climbed down and pulled the piece of wood back in its place then jumped down from the ladder and into the dark place.

His eyes were wide.

His breath was heavy.

The times ended now.

There were three knocks on the wood after a couple of seconds.

“My friend! You made it.” The voice of the same announcer from before.

The guy wasn’t sure…

Was this a trick??

“No tricks, I promise. You were the only one who made it.” The announcer said suddenly as if he was reading the guy’s mind, he then slid the wood over, looking down at the guy.

“What- I won..?” The guy said in disbelief, his eyes widened as this was the first time he saw the announcer's face…

But before he spoke again…

The announcer grinned sharply. “That 10k is yours.” He said, stepping back.

The guy then cautiously walked up the ladder…

Later, they were up front again.

The guy held the briefcase…

He felt terrible but relieved at the same time...

He actually survived.

“I hope to see you in future games, my friend.” The announcer said his grin was slightly…unsettling...he then walked off.

(I myself don’t know how to feel about this piece I’ve created lol, but if you enjoyed it, I’m glad. Thanks for reading!! I might edit it one day and add more details if needed but we’ll see..i know i changed ‘the man’ to ‘the announcer’ towards the end, if that caused any confusion, they’re the same people:) )
