WRITING OBSTACLE
Write a short story in a genre which you are either uncomfortable or unfamiliar with.
Think about which characters and plot lines would be suitable for your chosen genre, and how you will modulate your tone, language and style so that you don't end up writing in your comfort zone!
The Night Of The Bats
Further down the street stood a tall empty building, it had been empty for as long as she could remember. Every time she walked past it she always wanted to peer in but could never get the courage to. White cloths hung over the windows there where precisely 6 windows at the front and a huge boarded up door with the numbers 56 sprayed across in red paint.
People said the house was used in the war but nobody really knew what for, different people came in and out of the building nobody knew who actually owned it.
It didn’t look like a family home it seemed more like an office type building. The garden was hidden with metal sheets ( …… I’ll carry on
