I think I just met the happiest person in the world. While minding my own business on my way to work. You know when you just feel someone’s joy? Then you go to investigate more, to see if it’s for real? Her name was Jade and my first thought was, “This girl is either the happiest person in the world or she’s on cocaine.” But this world feels like it’s shrouded in a veil that dulls all the colors just enough to be noticeable and when I was introduced to Jade, it was like that veil had been lifted just for the brief moment that I was in her space. The ease of her smile, the way she made everyone around her so comfortable, her subtle yet undeniable confidence buzzing right beneath the surface of her skin. There was genuine contentment in her eyes, not that she’s never been hurt, never made a mistake, but that she’s found her resilience, her determination in life and that, ultimately….. she’s chosen peace. Wishing I could peel back the curtain just a little more, I asked her to lunch. Nothing crazy, nothing pursuiant…. Just another entrepreneur that wants to connect about business. She looked at me then, so directly and so simply…. Like she was finally taking stock of all that I was. And there it was, a sparkle. Just for a moment.
