‘You overgrown fur ball, you pampered princess of a pet. Yes I said PET!’ Reginald the mouse drew himself up to his full three inch height and scowled at the Burmese kittie.

Reginald looked at the cat and the bars that separated them, the cat licked its paws and said nothing. But the words stung, deep in her DNA she remembered cold nights and hunting for survival but all she had known were hugs and kisses and an indoor world of wallpaper and eiderdowns.

‘Cat got your tongue you useless lump. Just look at me’ Reginald sneered and flicked his tail ‘If I could get to you I would kill you dead making you run circles till your fat heart gave out’.

The cat pretended not to hear but she swore revenge on all mice. ‘One day’ she thought to herself ‘one day I will get you and I’ll eat your words’.

‘Here darling din dins’ the door open and in rushed a brown haired whirlwind of a child dressed in blue. ‘ I have some special new treats for you Reggie’.
