POEM STARTER
Inspired by Stephanie Lacson
Mortality
Write a poem with a structured rhyme scheme, which focuses on the theme of mortality.
Narcissism
Narcissism
You wear the spaces of our silences in your eyes
Till I no longer wonder about your soul, or your mind.
Your narcissism spirals
And your stare pierces through me like a sharp arrow
I used to wonder what would happen if you suddenly died.
How much easier would have been my life?
The hatred I feel for you served on a silver platter,
The resentment became so real your illusions shattered.
And your self-pity erupts my anger
The thoughts I harbor will always linger
The ugliness of your soul will wither
Till your face dries up and no one will defend her,
The one who reaps and destroys
With her awful lies and conversations
And those conversations give way
to murder enticing stares
Till even glances are unbearable
The words that come out your thin mouth intolerable
Hatred grows stronger till it smells of rust and dying things.
Every time you speak an angel loses its wings
