WRITING OBSTACLE
If there was an 8th deadly sin, what would it be?
Write a descriptive paragraph about this sin.
Eight Sins
Eight sins-
By, Just a girl šļæ¼
Seven sins have long been knownā
to test the soul, to weigh us down.
But in this world that continues its spin-
a new one rises with the rest: dishonesty begins.
To envy what another holds
diminishes the light you own.
Chasing someone elseās path
leaves you lost, or internally alone.
To lust and never truly loveā
just sexual pleasures, leaving your wounds with larger holes-
Wanting butterflies to obtain a fleeting high
Chasing,catch and ghost
Then repeat your patterns
Not seeing a problem
In the cycle you have encountered -
Fearful of being open or having a real connection
Once, rich or poor, love still had worth.
Now, trust feels rare upon this earth.
What once was sacredāsafety, careā
feels wasted now, too hard to bear.
We trade our gifts for minimum wage
work for others, leaving our dreams behind
Afraid to fail, afraid to fall,
yet most have never had it all.
So we boast in things we own,
Fearful trying the places unknown.
Our gluttonous waysā
more of what makes our hearts crave
Young girls starve to fit the mold,
their value tied to what theyāre told.
Change your face, your skin, your name
uniqueness now feels a kind of shame.
Wrath burns hot in silent cries,
in those ignored, dismissed, denied.
We lash out or hurt, just to feel alive,
while peace and kindness fail to thrive.
And so, the eighth sin enters inā
Dishonesty: our quiet twin.
We lie to keep, we lie to gain,
to numb our guilt, erase our pain.
We kill for paper, cheat for pride,
we bury truth, and call it ālife.ā
But who are we, when we canāt seeā
the soul behind our enemy?
How are we better, when we ignoreā
our own reflection but still want more?
